James asks…

Hair loss in women?

Does hrt cause hair loss? I am trying to reduce hrt and my hair is falling out. I decided to increase the dose to where it was orignially to see if it would stop falling out.

Helen answers:

You’re decreasing your estrogen therapy? If you have high testosterone levels, yes women produce testosterone too, you could be having a side effect of decreasing your HRT. More likely you have another problem. Go to your physician to rule out diabetes and high blood pressure, both of which can cause female hair loss. Hormone imbalance – we’ve discussed – scalp diseases, stress, genetics, the list goes on…

Lizzie asks…

What r the excercises that help u loose weight around busts n upper back ? please suggest !?

Helen answers:

Hi Sukanya
The unfortunate truth is that weight loss, when not done correctly, can cause damages in body system. It can lead to side effects like pale, sagging skin, dark circles and fine lines, even loss of hair and overall vitality. Here is a simple remedy.
Weight Loss.
1.Regular exercise is an important part of effective weight loss. It helps to control your weight by using excess calories that otherwise would be stored as fat. Physical activity also helps prevent many diseases and improve your overall health.
2.Physical activity can reduce your risk for several diseases and conditions and improve your overall quality of life preserving your weight according to your height. Daily physical activity can help prevent heart disease and stroke by strengthening your heart muscle,
3.Regular exercise is beneficial in heart disease and stroke. Lowering your blood pressure, raising your HDL (“good” cholesterol), and lowering LDL cholesterol (“bad” cholesterol), improving blood flow, and increasing your heart’s working capacity.
4.High blood pressure. Regular exercise reduces blood pressure in people with high blood pressure (hypertension).
5.Diabetes. By reducing body fat, physical activity can help to prevent and control type 2 diabetes.
6.Back pain. By increasing muscle strength and endurance and improving flexibility and posture, regular exercise can prevent back pain.
7.Osteoporosis. Regular weight-bearing exercise promotes bone formation and may prevent many forms of bone loss associated with aging
8.Regular physical activity can also improve mood and the way you feel about yourself. Exercise is likely to reduce depression and anxiety and help you to better manage stress
9.Yogas, Pranayam, jogging, walk are the best exercise to reduce weight.
10.Fiber food, vegetables, fruits are added benefit to reduce weight.
11.No smoking, Wine drinking, No non veg food, No junk food.
12.No any medicine to reduce weight strictly.
Best result will be obtained after a period of 3 to 4 months. Advisable for medical checkup if any adverse effect is traced due to wrong exercise. Thyroids glands may prevent weight reduction.
However exercise should be done under the supervision of expert tutor, particularly in yogas. Pranayam. Exercise which may not suit to the body should be avoided. Take advice of gymnasium expert for what exercise to follow.

Good wishes.

-Memory loss sometimes
-Easily agitated because I’m tired all the time!

What the hell is wrong with me?? My stupid doctor obviously can’t figure it out!

Helen answers:

You seem to have a fatigue problem. Perhaps the energy vitamin B12 can help or a vitamin B complex. Coenzyme Q10 can also help to boost your energy level as in http://au.search.yahoo.com/search?p=%22coenzyme+q10+for+energy%22&fr=ush-ans The super food Spirulina is another good energy booster.

One of the most common fatigue causes is anxiety, which is known to effect 40 million U.S. Adults each year. Anxiety is a state of fear of real or imagined danger, which is manifested as increased heart rate, trembling, panic, weakness, extreme fatigue and stomach or intestinal discomfort. Anxiety disorders make up the largest mental illness diagnosis in the U.S.

Besides anxiety there are many other common fatigue causes such as insufficient sleep, too much sleep, under eating, thyroid problems or other illnesses (such as anemia, mononucleosis, CFS, glandular fever and many others), side effects from medication, dehydration, overexertion, an unhealthy diet and other causes as discussed in http://au.search.yahoo.com/search?p=%22common+fatigue+causes%22&fr=ush-ans

The following are harmful so tell your friend to be careful next time, excess of choclate is bad, so are the following:

>Caffeine – Caffeine found in products such as tea, coffee and chocolate is harmful to your pet because it contains theophyline or thebromine which can be toxic and cause palpitation and abnormal heart beats, as well as damaging your dogs central nervous system especially in smaller dogs.

>Dairy products – such as milk, cheese, yoghurt and butter will harm your dog if consumed in large quantities because they can’t break it down and digest it very well due to lack of the enzyme lactase, which may cause bloating and diarrhea in you pet.

>Sugar – Foods containing sugar may cause your dog to become obese which may lead to joint and dental problems and even diabetes.

>Alcoholic Drinks – The side effects of alcohol consumption include tremors, heart arrhythmia which may lead to Sudden Death Syndrome (SDS) and coma.

>Hops – As they contain an unknown compound which can cause your dog to serious complications such as rapid heartbeat, seizures and even death.
>Human vitamin supplements – Vitamins supplements – especially those containing iron – are toxic to dogs by damaging their digestive systems, livers and kidneys.
>Liver – contains large levels of vitamin A so when eaten in large amounts by your dog can pretty much poison it, affecting the bones and muscles.
>Marijuana – If you dog inhales the smoke of marijuana or even eats it then this will depress their nervous system, give them an abnormal heartbeat and/or vomiting.
>Moldy food – If your pet does manage to gain access and eat the moldy food it may cause serious bouts of vomiting and diarrhea.

David asks…

But during class time, my teacher said she won’t give us any more candy because we were all too hyper. And I admit, we were. She said something about the suger making us hyper as well. But I really don’t want her to stop giving us candy! What should I/we do????

Helen answers:

Any mother, parent, teacher etc. SHOULD NOT give any child candy.

There is absolutely no love whatsoever when someone gives another person poison.

And candy is just that – poison.

People may thumbs down me but you need to let go of yourself and think about this logically.

Candy has aspartame (aspartame has over 90 side effects!)

Eye
blindness in one or both eyes
decreased vision and/or other eye problems such as: blurring, bright flashes, squiggly lines, tunnel vision, decreased night vision
pain in one or both eyes
decreased tears
trouble with contact lenses
bulging eyes

tinnitus – ringing or buzzing sound
severe intolerance of noise
marked hearing impairment

Neurologic
epileptic seizures
headaches, migraines and (some severe)

confusion, memory loss, both
severe drowsiness and sleepiness

severe slurring of speech
severe hyperactivity and restless legs

Other

excessive thirst, fluid retention, leg swelling, and bloating
increased susceptibility to infection

Additional Symptoms of Aspartame Toxicity include the most critical symptoms of all
death
irreversible brain damage
birth defects, including mental retardation
peptic ulcers
aspartame addiction and increased craving for sweets
hyperactivity in children
severe depression
aggressive behavior
suicidal tendencies

Aspartame may trigger, mimic, or cause the following illnesses:
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
Epstein-Barr
Post-Polio Syndrome
Lyme Disease
Grave’s Disease
Meniere’s Disease
Alzheimer’s Disease
ALS
Epilepsy
Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
EMS
Hypothyroidism
Mercury sensitivity from Amalgam fillings
Fibromyalgia
Lupus

Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD)

Candy is in no way natural. Therefore it is extremely harmful.

As a teacher, I would give students fruit. Most candy has a fruit flavor to them anyways. And parents would be very happy with that.
